that was hanmer

That was hanmer

remember when you were turning a sharp corner, feeling your back wheel skid?

feeling the edge of the track
hearing your brakes squeak
smelling the fresh air gently push against your face

that was hanmer

remember walking into your cabin placing your bags wherever they could fit

seeing the doll looking beds
smelling that grandma perfume smell
hearing the birds tweet outside

that was hanmer
remember sneaking into your next door neighbour's room

hearing mr.Wood walk in
felling the wall push against your back
smelling his breath if he already knew you were hiding

that was hanmer

remember the hot pool like the super bowl or the sopher?

seeing the amazing view from the top of the building, waiting in line memorizing everything
hearing all the laughter making this night one that is almost unforgettable
smelling the sopher relaxing your mind, making you worry less and less

that was hanmer

hanmer springs: tree climbing

may, 20th, 2015 the day i went to hanmer springs. it was a great experience for a camp that was enjoyable because of the activities speaking of witch the activities/what we did while we were there >:)  one of the activities we did there was tree climbing, i myself and a lot of other enjoyed it, all you had to do was well climb just with some safety, there were 2 trees you could climb. one has 3 courses you could go all leaded by small, medium and big, the 2nd tree had 2 courses both leading up to the same length of hight. after we finished climbing both trees at least once or twice! we got milk crates and got somebody to stand on top of them while constantly stacking them. the man that instructed us hunter called this the twin towers, there were 2 teams and the aim of the goal was to build your tower higher than the other teams. in my team we got 15 yet somehow *cough cough grown ups cough cough* with a score of 16 witch is quite sad honestly 20150522_104139.jpg

te matatini

te matatini, one of the greatest kapahaka festivals in Newzealand and i'll be there along with my class though. sadly news reporters stated that it would rain on this event, i was quite annoyed when we arrived there because it did rain and knowing me i ignored all warnings and bran nothing but a t-shirt and shorts. i was lucky enough to get a plastic jersey from Elijah's mum and as soon as i did the rain stopped (sigh) tough love, tough love. when it was parsley good weather i started to watch the performances and boy where they good! everyone had a favorite, it was quite obvious when people started chanting there name. my personal favorite was te iti kahurangi, they had perfect timing for everything besides when they messed up (witch they barely did). after my class left i stayed with my mum along with my brother, she said  "you'll be meeting your cousins here, i haven't seen them in a few years so this should be great!" i was expecting family i had already meet witch it kind of was but i just said "who are they? have me and tuhi meet them before?" i asked "well when you where very young a doubt you'd remember them " later on i went to the bunji jumps, it was quite fun besides waiting in line for a good 15 minutes. when i hoped off i saw my mum with a massive group, when she said her cousins i was expecting just adults but there was quite a group of children my age. anyway after about 2 days we hanged out a lot and on Sunday i better give te matatini the attention of this story, at finals atleast 15,000 people came witch is quite big for New zealand. after the winner of te matatini was announced,  about 8 waita's where sang by the croud incluiding me, making it the greatest day for me
